INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

In keeping with its commitment of imparting education in the emerging interdisciplinary and application oriented areas, the College has introduced multidisciplinary subject Information Technology (IT) under Vocational Education Scheme of UGC.

The Three year B.Sc. Vocational Course in Information Technology (1+1+1) was started in 2003-04. A student can choose Information Technology as one of the subjects along with other prescribed elective subjects during admission into TDC classes. The course covers topics in computer literacy, programming, database systems, networking, webpage designing and hardware. A well equipped computer laboratory allows ample scope to the students for hands on training in practical classes.  The laboratory has the  latest and modern branded computers connected to the Win2k and Linux intranet system.

The department also offers certificate computer courses in computer literacy to the students, teachers and staff of the college.

 The IT Centre of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya also offers PGDCA course sponsored by INSTITUTE DISTANCE AND OPEN LEARNING (IDOL), GAUHATI UNIVERSITY and Certificate Course in information Technology and the courses under IGNOU convergence schemes are also offered by the college.
