7. Activities :

The “Physics Club” has been formed under the banner of the department of physics to create scientific curiosity and attitude not only among each members but also in the society as a whole through multifarious activities like quizzes, scientific talk, seminar, sky observations, demonstration of scientific tools to the school children, chart/model competitions among the students, cultural meet etc.

8. Physics Department at a glance:

• Major course started in 1993.
• During its 13 glorious years (up to 2008) altogether 36 students secured 1st class, 8 students secured  Distinction.
• Each and every year, the department adds new students to the list of 1st class rank holders.
• Few students made the department of the institution proud by securing top rank in the final University Examination.
• Few ex-students have successfully completed NET / JRF.
• Two ex-students ranked 1st and 2nd in M.Sc Examination.
• Alumni of the department excel in their respective fields. Few of them are currently pursuing their research in frontier fields like Nano Science, Cosmology, Plasma Physics, Quantum Computing etc.
