Birjhora Mahavidyalaya was set up in 1986 in response to a genuine need of the locality. Being the degree college with only science faculty under Gauhati University it possesses an unique character and remained steadfast to its commitment to provide comprehensive education in science, while at the same time laying stress on turning out morally upright and socially responsible young persons. The staffs are dedicated to their professions and maintain a good rapport with their students. They are also actively involved in the advancement of further studies. The campus and the conducive environs of the college is a great advantage in teaching and learning exercise. 16.3 acres (50 bighas) campus of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya provides enough space to go ahead with our mission. Birjhora Mahavidyalaya is in an active state of adopting multifarious strategies giving priority to the introduction of more flexible educational programmes, innovative teaching methods for imparting quality education, overall personality development measures and making the college a resource centre for the development of the surrounding community. The college thus progressing to achieve its goal and objectives in terms of wider coverage of education, quality education, gender equity and development of manpower commensurate with the need of the industry, commerce and society as a whole. During the last twenty-three years of its existence, the social accreditation and goodwill that the college has received is a potential source to go ahead with our mission. Today Birjhora Mahavidyalaya stands proudly as a notable seat of learning within the state of Assam. The future holds promise of greater accomplishments.
